So far, STEMANATE has collaborated with 8 MCPS schools' STEAM/STEM nights(4 Title 1 schools), 1 summer camp, 1 STEM Expo event, and hosted our own event at Carderock, currently totaling to approximately 2850 students reached! Today, STEMANATE is on the MCPS STEAM Festival toolkit website and officially is a member of the Maryland STEM Ecosystem!
-STEMANATE is excited to share that we successfully hosted our first youth STEM event on June 11th, 2023! The day-long event consisted of morning sessions (K-1st) and afternoon sessions (2nd-3rd). Our wonderful team of high school ambassadors led each session and helped lead a series of engaging and hands-on STEM activities. Kids learned how to collaborate within a team, work through the design process, enjoy complimentary snacks provided by our sponsors, and meet new friends!
-STEMANATE also accomplished two successful STEM days at the Basic Concepts summer camp. The days included our team of ambassadors guiding different groups of campers from pre-K to 8th grade in various STEM activities
-STEMANATE helped host a successful STEAM night at Rock View Elementary School with K-5th graders on February 1, 2024
-STEMANATE helped out at a STEAM night at South Lake Elementary School(Title 1) for K-5th graders on November 21, 2024, specifically doing the aluminum foil boat challenge
-STEMANATE hosted a STEAM night at Rolling Terrace Elementary School(Title 1) for K-5 on December 12, doing the aluminum foil boats, egg drop, and the marshmallow tower challenge
-STEMANATE hosted a STEAM night at Wheaton Woods Elementary School(Title 1) for K-5 on January 30, accumulating our record in student attendance
-STEMANATE hosted a STEAM night at Great Seneca Creek Elementary School for K-5 on March 13, 2025, specifically doing the aluminum foil boats
-STEMANATE hosted its first ever STEAM day at Piney Branch Elementary School for K-5 on March 14, specifically doing the egg drop challenge for all 7 fifth grade classes
-STEMANATE hosted a STEAM night at Strawberry Knoll Elementary(Title 1) School for K-5 on March 27, 2025, specifically doing the aluminum foil boats where a student named Zavi set our aluminum foil boat penny record of 345 pennies
-STEMANATE helped out at the Navy League's STEM Expo event in National Harbor at the Gaylord Hotel on April 6, our largest event yet involving around 1000 students all over the DMV where we did the aluminum foil boat challenge
-STEMANATE helped out at the Farquhar Middle School STEAM on May 1, joining a variety of other vendors facilitating the aluminum foil boat challenge
-STEMANATE helped out at the Fly Minds Summer STEM FAIR at the Patrick Henry School on Saturday June 7, helping out many kids try our aluminum foil boat challenge
